Hisa Linhart, Restavracija & Hotel
Details
Our house dates from the 17th century from the Baroque period. The Baroque era was a time of abundance, enjoyment and renaissance. Experience sweet, chocolate, baroque Radovljica! Get together over new-era bistro food. Learn about the food, so such dishes won’t be forgotten, so they will be preserved, so we can introduce them to our children, so we will love them, and so we will be proud of them! Enjoy sustainable wines, local gin, craft beers, Illy coffee, fairtrade hot chocolate and more. The appearance of Linhart Hotel is inseparably linked to Anton Tomaž Linhart, Radovljica’s most well-known resident (1756-1795). Linhart was the first Slovenian playwright and the founder of Slovenian historiography. Anton Tomaz Linhart’s most important works are Versuch einer Geschichte von Krain und den übrigen Ländern der Südlichen Slaven Oesterreichs1788, 1791 (An Attempt at the History of Carniola and Other Austrian Slavs), and the staging of his self-penned drama work Županova Micka (Micka, the Mayor’s Daughter) on 28 December 1789. The former is regarded as the beginnings of Slovenian national historiography, while the latter meant the ‘birth’ of Slovenian theatre. You can find out about his life and work at a permanent exhibition in the Municipal Museum in the Radovljica Manor.
